Portobello Market

After a really late night on Friday, it was hard to get up in the morning for Saturday's trip to Portobello Market.  I'm really glad I dragged myself out of bed to make it though, because this market is unlike anything I've ever seen.  This is an American farmers market on steroids.  On Saturdays the market is filled with street food vendors, antique booths, jewellery booths, produce, and even a flea market.  It's surprising to me that anyone actually lives on Portobello Road, because the market takes over every weekend and the streets become chaos.  Here I had the most delicious paella I've ever had.  The scent was alluring, the line was long, but it was well worth the wait.

Tummies full, we wandered through the market, browsing at the different booths and shopping for eclectic things.

After some shopping and browsing at the different booths and tables, it was time to eat again.  Wafflemeister was the destination for Elisabeth and me, and what a fantastic surprise that turned out to be!  I didn't know a waffle could be so delicious.  After pondering about it for a long time, Elisabeth and I decided it tasted more like a really good croissant than the waffles we were familiar with.  Mine came with ice cream on top, BONUS!
