Another beautiful, sunny day in London means another chance to go sight seeing, another reason to put off school work. Today I headed to Covent Garden with Hailey, Jemma, and Patrick. I had the opportunity to experience my first "Pizza Express". I'd heard that this was delicious pizza and I was not disappointed! It was the best pizza I've had thus far in London (considering the price). After the pizza, we wandered around Covent Garden, enjoying the scenery, the shops, and the recent addition - Christmas lights. Since Brit's don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I don't think it's wrong to put Christmas memorabilia up this early in the year. It is, after all, the next Brit holiday.
Covent Garden is such a fun place to be. There are always fun people to watch, interesting street performers to listen to, and there's lovely food to smell/sample. I love all of the little shops, though they're all quite a bit out of my price range. Window shopping and dreaming is always fun.
We stumbled upon a sextet of string performers entertaining a group of Covent Garden patrons. I was quite impressed with their musical skill, but the more than that I was entertained by the showmanship of the leader of the sextet. Here's a video of the fun.
Coming home was an adventure. Tube closures at the most essential part of our journey put us back at street level searching for a bus to familiar territory. After about an hour and a half, we were back in Roehampton. After all of the Christmasy things to see, I'm suddenly very much in the mood for winter and the holiday season!
